The problems of maintaining accurate stereo localization for off-axis listeners are discussed, both as regards amplitude and delay cues. A loudspeaker system is described which substantially corrects for amplitude imbalances for off-axis listeners, while providing additional spectral shaping to steer center-panned transient program toward the center.
