Are Equalized Closed-Boxes Preferable to Vented-Boxes?

Any response, which can be achieved by a vented-box, can also be realized by an equalized closed-box. The resulting excursion functions, however, will be different. The tradeoffs, between these two design concepts, are examined. The problems of closed-box equalizer design, given the spectral content of the signal to be reproduced is studied.
