AES E-Library

True Directional Sound System Orientated to the Original Sound and Diffuse Sound Structures-New Applications of the Delta Stereophony System (DSS)

The Delta Stereophoney Syetem introduced in 1980 at the 65th Convention of the AES, London, meanwhile has been further developed for use with mobile solo sound sources as has been described at the 77th Convention of the AES, Hamburg, 1985, and for several years has been in operation in a number of halls. Following a summary on the bases, the paper informs of recent applications in Berlin, GDR and in the Munich Philharmonie, GRD, as well as on applications in the open air. Moreover, it will be reported on the use of the DSS for sound-clouds festivals.
