Prospective Converter Techniques for Improved Signal-to-Noise Ratio in Digital Audio Systems
This paper introduces a simple model for the non-ideal digital system and compares with it several common configurations. Additionally, several A/D/A-conversion and error-feedback techniques, with emphasis on oversampling, are compared and unified. The paper also introduces some implementations, which had not been reported within the AES. By combining these results with that of the latest hardware techniques, the paper describes feasible solutions and expectable limits for high-resolution converters.
