A multiprocessor digital audio system has been constructed based on the Texas Instruments TMS32020 digital signal processing microprocessor. This paper describes the multiprocessor machine architecture and application software development environment. The implementation of a real-time cross-synthesis algorithm based on the autocorrelation method of linear prediction is discussed.
