Digital FIR Filters for Loudspeaker Crossover Networks
In some of the numerous papers on analog loudspeaker crossover network design, it is noted that certain design limitations are not present when using digital design methods. With the current proliferation of digital technology, it is timely to examine in detail some possible design methodologies for digital loudspeaker crossover networks. In this paper, we briefly mention the major issues involved in analog crossover network design. Finally, we look at the feasibility of implementing such a crossover system using general purpose and custom application specific integrated circuit, ASIC, hardware.
