Stereo Reproduction with Good Localization in a Wide Listening Area

A new stereo reproduction method is proposed which expands the size of the listening area having good localization. The effectiveness of the new method is confirmed by subjective tests, and exhibits remarkable improvement in the near field from loudspeakers compared with the ordinary 2-channel stereo reproduction method. The new method is applicable not only to audio conferencing, but also to ordinary stereo reproduction systems.
