A Recent Study of Sound Systems and Acoustics in the Astrodome

A renovation project is currently underway at the Astrodome in Houston, Texas, including replacement of the sound system which is more than twenty years old. The authors conducted a detailed study of the room acoustics using TEF measurement techniques. In addition, speech intelligibility measurements were made using two sound systems. Correlations of measured and calculated data are presented.
