Prospects for Transaural Recording

Document Thumbnail

Transaural stereo, generic for binaural stereo processed for cancellation of loudspeaker-to-ear crosstalk, results from the use of minimum-phase filters in shuffler configuration. Simplifying the filters further at short wavelengths makes listener position noncritical. Full spatial qualities appear in a conventional stereo playback that avoids early reflections. Inverse shufflers provide precise transaural pan functions for multitrack work.
