8-Channel Digital Audio Mixer for Digital Mastering and Recording
The authors have designed and developed an 8-channel digital audio mixer for digital mastering and recording. It consists of 4 units: a signal processing unit, a remote control unit, an 8-channel A/D unit, and an 8-channel D/A unit. : The signal processing unit has low-cut and high-cut filters, a 4-band equalizer and an emphasis/deemphasis equalizer for each channel, and has two program outputs and two auxiliary outputs. To maintain high-quality signal resolution, the filter and equalizer section consists of 6 fourth-order digital filters whose coefficient work length is 24 bits and signal word length is 38 bits. The remote control unit has the same appearance as that of an analog mixer, enabling fast and easy operation.
