Thin-Film Head Incorporating Write Circuit
This introduces a newly-developed thin-film recording head featuring coils with 30 turns, made possible through new multi-turn helical thin-film technology.: The recording head incorporates an integrated circuit consisting of a serial/parallel data converter, a control circuit and a driver unit for the electromagnetic conversion element of each track.: When the tracks are being driven, the total electrical supply current is less than 10 mA so that it can be used in compact and lightweight S-DAT recorders.
