Digitalization of Conventional Analog Filters for Recording Use

Document Thumbnail

The digitalization of conventional analog filters of the sort used for recording, such as tone controllers, the RIAA characteristic filter, multiway limiters, and graphic equalizers, is described. The transfer functions of these digital filters are expressed explicitly as the z transform. The requirement of the word length of the digital filter for avoiding overflow and coefficient truncation errors is also discussed.
