Eight millimeter sound movies at first thought might seem to be but a logical extension of their 16 and 35 millimeter counterparts. While this is generally true, there are quite formidable problems inherent in the reduced film size and speed. A discussion of the problems encountered and the solutions evolved in the design of the Kodak 8MM Sound Projector is presented.
