High Efficiency Switching Power Amplifiers Based on DC-to-DC Convertors
A new principle of switching power amplifier by S. Cuk has been verified and improved. For instance mutual inductances have been introduced to provide a continuous ripple control. Also the load has been connected in a different way. It is shown that even VMOS power devices do not provide yet a sufficient power bandwidth (7kHz). Also the excessive voltage and current ratings on the power devices and on the energy transfer capacitances this design to be of limited practical use.
