A Computer Controlled Polyphonic Synthesizer

Document Thumbnail

A computer controlled electronic music system designed for composition, orchestration, and live performance is described. The system comprises a custom designed microcomputer and up to 64 voice cards, each containing a complete analog synthesizer of moderate complexity with associated circuitry to allow computer control of over 100 voice-definition parameters. The computer has independent control of each card and, in addition, implements a sophisticated polyphonic sequencer.
