Zoom Microphone
Those who are involved in making video recordings or 8mm movies, hobbyists or professionals, have longed for a unique microphone which, mounted on a video or 8mm camera, can produce an acoustic "zoom" effect as optical zoom lenses can. JVC developed a new microphone, which consists of three similar microphone units and can change its directivity continuously from omnidirectional to second-order gradient unidirectional. Its sensitivity is also varied in accordance with the change in directivity.
