The New Stereo FM Broadcasting System-How to Understand the FCC Specifications and Generate the Composite Signal

The basis for this paper will be the specifications concerning stereophonic broadcasting asd adopted by the Federal Communications Commission on April 19, 1961. Generally, the specifications are clear and familiar to everyone in the radio industry, however, certain sections concerning pilot phasing, interchannel phase relations, etc. may be unfamiliar. It is our purpose to discuss these specifications and a signal generator circuit which was designed to meet them.
