The Manta-Ray Horns

Existing directivity-control theory has been expanded yielding a unique horn design. This design improves on many of the problems present in "prior-art" horns, including vertical polar widening at low frequencies, poorly shaped polar response curves, and poor front-to-back energy control. Several directivity-control mechanisms are introduced which define the new "Manta-Ray" horn geometry. These include a tall, nonradial mouth and a quadric horn bell. Directivity-response performance is presented.
