Distortion Measurements with Noise as a Test Signal

Document Thumbnail

The possibilities to use 1/3-octave bands of noise for measuring harmonic and intermodulation distortions are studied. A simple explanation is given for the general shape of the intermodulation spectrum produced by a band-limited noise. Some test results are shown and compared with those obtained with sine signals.
