Use of a Continuously Variable Logarithmic Sweep Function Generator in the Regenerative Response Equalization of Sound Systems

Document Thumbnail

A new technique employing a high voltage, continuously variable rate, logarithmic sweep, function generator as a source and a 1/3-octave real time audio response analyzer with appropriate integration time display as a receiver, allows easier identification of the ringing frequencies generated in a sound system near regeneration when shock excited. Benefits include easier identification both audibly and visually of the ringing frequency and its interaction with the corrective equalizer's amplitude or phase adjustment.
