Many of the same factors which influence a concert hall's usefulness for its original purpose (a place for an audience to listen to a live performance) effect its usefulness as a recording studio. Those halls which allow the use of simple recording techniques are generally better halls for live performances. Those halls which require the use of multi-microphone and/or multitrack techniques are usually poor halls for the concertgoer and/or the performer.
