The Design and Integration of a High Performance Voltage Controlled Attenuator
At the 60th Convention of the Audio Engineering Society, a voltage-controlled attenuator was introduced and a paper was presented discussing existing UCA technology by Baskind and Rubens. At that time legal commitments prevented disclosure of the operating principles and design of the new attenuator. With the issuance of U.S. patent 4 155 047 it is now possible to discuss these principles and to discuss progress made in the monolithic integration of this device.
