Electret Microphone and Preamplifier Combination for Experimental Telephone Handset Use

Document Thumbnail

An electret microphone and companion preamplifier arranged to fit within telephone handsets for experimental evaluations are described. These studies were undertaken to determine the technical feasibility of using electronically supplemented electret transducers in telephone station sets. Extended use and testing under laboratory conditions show that such microphone-amplifer combinations perform satisfactorily.
