A Comprehensive Musical Criterion: The Inversion Index

Document Thumbnail

During the 1960's an abundance of new acoustical criteria for Concert Hall Quality have been suggested. Basically, they all show a certain variation from point to point in an auditorium. Such variations may not have more than local significance. Average values of a certain criterion over the sound source area and average values of the same criterion over the listening area being compared. (f.i. as a quotient), may have a general significance for the evaluation of a concert Hall (or an Opera Theater).
