Auditory Tests of Timbre Sensitivity at the Tonmeisters Faculty
The Tonmeisters Faculty, Sound Regie Faculty, at Warsaw Academy of Music is the only center in Poland where regular teaching and professional training of future tonmeisters take place. The study lasts five years and comprises a large course in musical, technical, and professionally-practical subjects. The candidates must present a certificate of a secondary professional musical school (which means that they are already skillful musicians) and have to pass the competitive entrance examination. The entrance examination consists of several tests at which the candidates theoretical knowledge (mathematics, theory of music, cultural problems) and practical achievements (playing musical instruments, ear training) are checked.
