The operation of a fully automated mixdown console is reviewed and operational parameters developed. Various alternative approaches to each of the major subsystems are presented and evaluated in the light of these parameters. Techniques discussed include digital and analog data bus, discrete wire control, and various means of presentation of data to the operator.
