Third Octave Series Presentation of Time Constants in Audio Engineering
Preferred frequencies as laid down in ISO Recommendation R 266 have 1/3-octave interval as smallest fraction. It is shown that this same interval can be used to advantage for presentation of time constants in audio engineering. It proved, furthermore, possible to extend the approach to the calculating procedure of associated electrical components, although the number series as recommended in IEC Publication 63 2) unfortunately are based on a non-ISO standard power series.
