Horn-Loaded Electrostatic Loudspeaker

An electrostatically driven foil diaphragm is loaded acoustically by a horn having the throat area 10 times smaller than that of the diaphragm. The resulting acoustical transformation enables one to increase considerably the frequency range. Cross section of a patented arrangement, design data, dimensions, and results are presented.
