Automatic Detection of Impulse Noise

Document Thumbnail

A method has been developed for detecting spurious impulse noise in an audio signal. The discriminant is absence of decay envelope, determined by a comparison of the suspected impulse with the waveform in which it occurs. The method has been applied to a quality-control device for testing records.
