Clavichord Amplification

Document Thumbnail

Some of the limitations of electroacoustic amplification for a small clavichord have been studied. The conclusions are that a vibration pickup properly coupled to the soundboard or strings can provide more than a factor of 100 improvement in sound power output, thus making the clavichord somewhat competitive in this respect with a small piano.
