Comparative Stereophonic Listening Tests
The signals supplied by six different stereophonic microphone systems, placed in front of an orchestra, were simultaneously and separately recorded (XY, STEREOSONIC, MS. O.R.T.F., N.O.S., PAN-POT DISTRIBUTION). Neither reverberation nor other effects were added. The audience, listening to unidentified stereophonic excepts, will be invited to classify different quality parameters (resolution, perspective, liveness, stage continuity, etc.).
