A band-limited noise generator useful in sound system excitation for making equalization measurements and other applications is described. Th'method used in producing band-limited noise from a pseudo-random binary sequence generator, without using bandpass filters, in a new noise generator is disclosed. Test signals such as one-third octave, pink and white noise previously generated by analog techniques are duplicated using a combination of digital and analog circuitry.
