Spherical microphone and loudspeaker arrays have been widely studied in the past decade, with applications ranging from room acoustics to active control and speech communication. A significant advance has also been presented with spherical loudspeaker arrays, with respect to array design and array processing. This work presents new developments in spherical loudspeaker arrays for sound-field control in rooms, showing how spherical multiple-input multiple-output systems can be employed to facilitate the control of sound-field radiation in enclosures.
