Use of Solid State Transducers in Mechanics and Acoustics

Document Thumbnail

Solid state devices have been used extensively to measure and generate stresses and stress waves in solids, liquids, and gases. Strain gages having gage factors of 175 can be constructed from silicon. By using p-n junctions and transistors in their amplifying phases, very sensitive devices are obtained. Thin films have been used for transducers and monolithic crystal filters.
