-Invisible- Sound Reinforcement with 350 Microphones

The sound system in the new Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist in Chicago reinforces speech from any of the 764 seats, using several of the 350 concealed microphones. Signals to the 350 concealed loudspeakers are delayed to prevent pre-echo. A nontechnical operator controls the system easily via display circuits and semiautomatic switching of microphones and loudspeakers.
