This paper presents a new detection scheme for a spread spectrum and perceptual audio watermarking system based on turbo-coding approach. The detection was performed by a non causal Wiener equalizer followed by a maximum correlation decision. We discuss the sensitivity of such a receiver in front of the specificities of this communication system. More importantly, we propose a new detection method by incorporating a turbo encoder/decoder module and omitting the hard decision at the Wiener filter output. This new detection scheme gives significantly better results even in presence of an MPEG compression.
