Toward Complete Laboratory-Design of Sound Reinforcement Systems

Document Thumbnail

Sound reinforcement systems, when properly installed, should provide a predominant direct field at all listening positions. The primary effect of the reverberant field should be on howlback. Therefore, it should be possible to design a complete system in the laboratory, using both free and reverberant field measurements. In situ equalization could then be confined to the elimination of high Q, feedback-enhanced modes.
