The purpose of this paper is to provide some theoretical background to complement the actual demonstration of the stereo synthesizer and stereo matrix. Readers interested in the mathematical details of stereo synthesizer and stereo matrix operation are referred to the April, 1970 issue of AES Journal. In this discussion, we will steer a middle course between the abstract and the intuitive/operational approaches.
