Core Metadata: Background and Significance
This paper introduces core metadata, its role in standardisation of audio metadata and its relationship to more general metadata. The paper reviews efforts and possibilities for convergence of metadata standards, and concludes with an introduction to some middleware concepts for allowing systems to cope with 'non-converged' metadata.
