Auditorium Acoustics Simulator: Form and Uses

Document Thumbnail

Our simulator is a signal processor for synthesizing complex sound fields matching those found in auditoriums. Such fields consist of a large number of signals from different directions, each of which is a different composite of numerous discrete time delays, varying in reverberation, frequency balance, and other parameters. To be a useful research tool, the simulator must permit rapid and calibrated control of these parameters. The design and several applications of analog instrumentation capable of generating acoustic fields from -dry- one or two channel program material is described.
