Surround Ambiophonic Recording and Reproduction

Document Thumbnail

Panorambiophonics is a surround recording and reproduction paradigm that routinely delivers full horizontal 360-degree localization of sound via just four DVD/SACD/MLP/DTS/Dolby/ADAT coding/media channels and two Ambiopoles. The companion Panambiophone mic (or algorithms) captures images of startling depth and presence for live music in the round, 3D movie sound tracks, virtual reality, or electronic music montages. Periambiophonics further extends this concept to allow accurate and directional, (including height) hall ambience vectors to be distributed to essentially any number of corresponding surround speakers regardless of their number or position. Periambiophonics routinely delivers a "you-are-there", physiologically correct, home listening experience, albeit best limited to two listeners, via home theater media. Periambiophonic reproduction of commercial ITU 5.1 recordings routinely yields clearly superior surround results.
