Consideration of Some Factors Concerning the Use of Audio Transformers
The importance of the frequency response-terminating impedance relationship is shown, and the prediction of frequency response of transformers with small and large deviations from nominal terminating impedance is discussed. Transformer characteristics are considered, including distortion due to ferromagnetic core distortion, longitudinal balance, magnetic shielding, and high step-up ratios in input transformers. Methods of simultaneous matching of more than two impedances are shown.
