Optimizing the Distortion Performance of Audio Systems by Matching Two Tone Distortion Characteristics to Amplifier Power

Document Thumbnail

The performance of many current audio products indicates that little or no effort was made to match the distortion characteristics of the speaker to the rated power output of the amplifier. We are presenting both a test method and a proposed criteria for making that evaluation, based on the derived curve of harmonic and intermodulation distortion vs speaker input power.
