Acoustic Field Analysis of a Loudspeaker Enclosure Using the Finite Element Method

The acoustic field in a loudspeaker enclosure with rigid walls and its effect on the sound pressure responses are investigated by applying the finite element method to the acoustic cavity of the enclosure. Sound pressure responses are calculated by simulating the loudspeaker system with an electro-mechanical equivalent circuit. These responses are then evaluated in terms of location, semi-apex angle, radius and mass of the loudspeaker diaphragm.
