Engineering Justifications for Selected Portions of the AES Recommended Practice on Specification of Loudspeaker Components
A new Draft Recommended Practice for Specification of Loudspeaker Components Used in Professional Audio and Sound Reinforcement was published in March 1982 JAES. This paper presents specific details of the Draft which relate to engineering use, including reasons for its being drafted, there being several other standards on speakers already in existance. Free-field, HF driver, LF driver, horn and LF enclosure measurements are discussed, including response, directivity and power handling.
