A low-frequency transducer system, designated as "Servo-Drive Loudspeaker" for use below 100 Hz is described. Instead of the traditional voice coil and magnet, a low mass rotary power converter is used to supply force to the radiators. The result of this is an unprecedented power capacity, high efficiency, excellent linearity, and low distortion. Such a device used in a direct radiator or horn loaded system allows the use of a greatly reduced enclosure volume for a given acoustic output and low frequency cutoff.
