The room acoustics of a domed space, 730 feet in diameter, were so far beyond the range of our experience that preliminary acoustical design was based on the results of time-scaling experiments made for this purpose on a half-scale model: the existing 400-foot sports arena at Charlotte, North Carolina. The results of the time-scaling tests in Charlotte and an evaluation of the completed building in Houston are presented.
