The backscattered energy from several RPG acoustical diffusors, with different well width, maximum depth and number of wells per period, was measured with the TEF analyzer,a s a function of frequency and time, for a variety of angles of incidence and diffraction. Measurements were carried out in a large open indoor space to provide the time window necessary for the steady state frequency measurement, using a novel geometry with source, microphone and diffusor on the floor boundary, both to minimize floor reflections and increase the diffuse energy with respect to the direct energy by 6 dB. The measurements verify the temporal and spatial diffusing properties and uniform steady state response of these diffusors.
