Measurement procedure of the squarewave/sine, triangle/sine, and highpass-squarewave/sine distortion test is considerably simplified, if only the low-frequency intermodulation products are acquired. It requires only a low-pass receiving filter instead of a selective voltmeter or spectrum analyzer. Correlation with distortion figures of the original procedures is given. A practical, small low-cost prototype distortion meter was built and sample measurements are presented.
