A Large Monitor Loudspeaker System Suitable for Digital Recording
The limitations imposed by analog tape do not exist in a digital studio. Therefore, the loudspeakers must handle a signal which has a high level (in the 20-to-40-Hz range), has a dynamic range which is 20 to 30dB wider, and has ten times less distortion. This paper describes a new five-way loudspeaker system using a low-noise electronic crossover, a 30-inch woofers, and 7600 watts of amplifier power.
